THE SHIFT (DVD Presentation)
At the age of 68, Wayne Dyer has made his first film, an engaging exploration of our mid-life longing for more purpose and meaning. Early in life, we follow follow the path mapped out by ego - a path of ambition, competition and striving. At mid-life, we question the direction we are heading and yearn to find our true calling. Through the interwoven stories of a businessman, a mother, and a film director, this inspiring film shows us how to find the path to our spiritual purpose and therefore our greatest joy. Previously titled 'Ambition to Meaning'. Starring Dyer, Portia de Rossi and Michael DeLuise. 120 min.
Critically acclaimed and appearing regularly on Russian television, 'Who Are You, Madame Blavatsky?' was produced to vindicate the name and reputation of Helena Blavatsky for the Russian public. Because her writings were in English and censored by the communist party, this 1991 production is an important historical document--the first Russian film on her work. Filming took place in the house where Blavatsky was born as well as in India and a Mongolian Buddhist monastery where areas and activities seldom witnessed by foreigners were filmed live. 50 min.
No Charge, but a free will offering will be accepted.
It has been clinically proven that those who meditate feel more energized and less anxious. In fact, meditation is now taught to patients in many hospitals around the world. Yet, meditation is far more than a stress reduction technique. It can harmonize the whoe person, balance our moods, and sharpen our minds. More importantly, meditation is capable of awakening the Immortal Self. In these classes we will learn techniques to bring harmony into our own lives and to project peace and healing to others. There will be opportunities to ask questions, share techniques, and deepen our meditations. Beginner and experienced meditators are welcome.

What is the purpose of Life? Why do we come here to live, work, experience, enjoy our self and then journey to another place? Like the stars in the evening sky we are here to illume the darkness; each in our own way providing light, hope, and expressing that which is highest within our self.

DVD Presentation (31 min) and Discussion. Speaker on DVD: Richard Brooks
How are we to evaluate the revelations found in different religions and spiritual traditions? According to Dr. Brooks, Theosophical epistemology states that "Truth is not the exclusive possession of any one religion or group but is the common heritage of all serious seekers, for it is in all times and in all cultures." Another basic assumption of Theosophical epistemology is that "all truth is accessible to anyone who develops the powers to perceive it; ultimate truth is not accessible only to a chosen few, as many of the world's theosogians claim." In this stimulating talk, Dr. Brooks examines the distinctions between wisdom, knowledge, and belief.
